I'm Mikko, and my passion is weaving a down-to-earth approach into the tapestry of living a life with greater peace and ease. I guide individuals through philosophies and embodied practices, helping them rediscover presence and a deeper sense of self beyond the distractions and constraints of the thinking mind.
'Excuse me, what's going on now,' you may ask. Let me clarify: If you feel like there’s all the time in the world to live a meaningful life, yet there aren’t enough hours in the day to figure out how to get out of your own way, then a bit of peace and presence might just move the needle.
One way to mark the beginning of my ongoing journey – which has evolved into the current incarnation of this website – was in 2000 when I stepped onto a yoga mat for the first time. Fast forward nearly 25 years, and I've dedicated extensive time to ongoing training in classical yoga, including years of studying in-person with renowned teachers in India and Thailand.
From humble beginnings where only two people attended my first class (never to be seen again!), I later gained amazing experiences leading workshops on four continents, for groups as large as 100 people. And I had the privilege of founding and running a yoga studio in Copenhagen for nearly a decade.
My ongoing, albeit slowly progressing, doctoral thesis delves into the abyss of the modern experience of persistent busyness and time-stress in the quest to regain a sense of connectedness and self-efficacy over our lives. It's an exploration deeply rooted in my commitment to aiding others on their journey to live saner lives.
And, in case you're wondering, yes, I'm a proud Star Trek fan, and I take photos too.
Before we dive in, let's get to know each other better. Sending a message is a good start.
Just so you know, I'm currently located in the wonderful city of Turku, Finland. After years of maintaining a full teaching schedule, I'm taking some time to hibernate and teaching selectively, but I'm always open to hear more about opportunities.
