Greetings

I'm Mikko, and my passion is weaving a down-to-earth approach into the tapestry of living a life with greater peace and ease. I guide individuals through philosophies and embodied practices, helping them rediscover presence and a deeper sense of self beyond the distractions and constraints of the thinking mind.

'Excuse me, what's going on now,' you may ask. Let me clarify: If you feel like there’s all the time in the world to live a meaningful life, yet there aren’t enough hours in the day to figure out how to get out of your own way, then a bit of peace and presence might just move the needle.

One way to mark the beginning of my ongoing journey – which has evolved into the current incarnation of this website – was in 2000 when I stepped onto a yoga mat for the first time. Fast forward nearly 25 years, and I've dedicated extensive time to ongoing training in classical yoga, including years of studying in-person with renowned teachers in India and Thailand.

From humble beginnings where only two people attended my first class (never to be seen again!), I later gained amazing experiences leading workshops on four continents, for groups as large as 100 people. And I had the privilege of founding and running a yoga studio in Copenhagen for nearly a decade.

My ongoing, albeit slowly progressing, doctoral thesis delves into the abyss of the modern experience of persistent busyness and time-stress in the quest to regain a sense of connectedness and self-efficacy over our lives. It's an exploration deeply rooted in my commitment to aiding others on their journey to live saner lives.

And, in case you're wondering, yes, I'm a proud Star Trek fan, and I take photos too.

Mikko serves the most consistent backdrop for one who wish to cultivate authentic connection with your inner being and higher self. Mikko’s persistent presence and patience, is like a peaceful ocean to reflect in, as you learn to accept life as it is. Mikko has an exquisite eye to observe your inner dialogue and the sense of timing it takes to puncture it. • “There is so much diluted messaging out there, but studying at a genuine authentic yoga school with Mikko for 5 years was simply a deeply enriching experience for me on so many levels. Mikko is a sincere long-term student who facilitated my learning process every step of the way whether it was through practical support or through conversations about philosophy and life. He holds a quiet and reflective space which allowed me to look deeply within. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I had to learn from Mikko. • “The secret of Mikko’s influence lies not only in his knowledge and technical skills, but also in his authentic, serene and emphatic way of being. He is a great listener, an extraordinary observer and has a wonderful sense of humour. Very often just a few of his words have a lasting, transformative effect. I highly recommend Mikko to everyone who is looking for an engaged and supportive teacher - a teacher who doesn’t really care about having a social media “super star” image, but truly cares about all his students and his own, silent practice.”

  • “I started my yoga journey 13 years ago. It has its ups and downs. Joys and struggles. Frustrations and ease. It was only when I met Mikko at his studio in Copenhagen that I finally learned to surrender and soften. Without judgment and resistance. For me, a teacher is someone who is curious on the yoga practice with me. Someone who is still full of amazement for its beauty, mystery and inner wisdom. Day after day. Breath after breath. Moment to moment. Mikko is like that as a teacher. Guiding without pushing. Deeply grateful to have met him.”

Let's talk

I'm delighted that you're interested in co-creating, or simply saying hello.

Before we dive in, let's get to know each other better. Sending a message is a good start.

Just so you know, I'm currently located in the wonderful city of Turku, Finland. After years of maintaining a full teaching schedule, I'm taking some time to hibernate and teaching selectively, but I'm always open to hear more about opportunities.

I agree to recognize the unity in diversity, starting with this form
