This retreat takes place at the Country House Giulia di Gallese which sits in the typical rolling Italian countryside north of Rome, along the Tiber valley near Viterbo. Surrounded by lawns, flowers and trees, this Country House offers us a fine view across the valley to the old medieval town of Gallese, which is only 1 km away, and across the countryside, with the majestic Monte Soratte, the Cimini mountains and the Appenines on the horizon. There is a new open-air swimming-pool, framed by lawns, roses and olive-trees.

Hips are the junction between our upper body and legs. Tight hips can cause many issues not only in our hip joints but also in our knees, ankles, lower back, spine, and shoulders. Hip-opening poses can be challenging but working intelligently with the hips can also be energising and rejuvenating, offering the opportunity for great emotional release. Primary series trouble-shooting, Copenhagen

In this workshop we will look at a selected themes within the Yoga Chikitsa practice. We will explore the ‘gateway’ poses and refine some of the vinyasas for a more in-depth look at this therapeutic series. Special attention will be given on how to work with tight hips, as well as how to protect your shoulders, knees, and lower back as you develop your practice. This class is for everyone. Full primary series practice is not a requirement.

We will finish the session with a brief exploration of techniques and considerations on how to deepen the yoga practice and take it off the mat.

Workshop soveltuu kaikille ja antaa eväitä mielekkäämpään harjoitukseen riippumatta lähtötasosta.

This class will provide techniques to access the sometimes daunting part of the Ashtanga system, the jump-back and jump-through. The jump backs and jump throughs run like a thread through the seated postures and link them together. We will explore techniques to build strength and stamina for this transitional element of the practice. Join us for some challenging fun!
