WE'RE DANCING IN THE MOMENT TOGETHER
Are you looking to ignite an inner spark, a pop of self-curiosity, but unsure how to embark on your own journey of personal growth?
My approach to teaching is two-fold: to hold encouraging space for your own discovery of self, and to continuously encourage you to explore, within all of you, places and perspectives you may not have tried or gone to before.
From an early age, I have approached life through the lens of self exploration. I’ve always been more curious than competitive, and often found it easier to test boundaries than to fit in to most social constraints.
From around the age of eight, my interests shifted from toys and games to philosophies, religions and science. Fast forward several years later, but before the Internet existed, I stumbled upon magazine and newspaper articles talking about yoga. These encounters changed my life.
I stopped running marathons and in 2000, I started to show up every day on my yoga mat. After a few short years of building up a career as a journalist, I became a PR consultant, and eventually found a quiet(er) spot in my head that I learned to trust. My yoga practice became a home where I could be myself, and I became hungry for more.
In 2002 I began a 6-year apprenticeship under the guidance of Petri Räisänen and other teachers of Ashtanga Yoga Helsinki. In that year, took my first of many pilgrimages to India with my long time teacher, Lino Miele. In 2003, I began an annual pilgrimage to Mysore, India to study Ashtanga Yoga, codified and popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois, along with his grandson and daughter, Sharath and Saraswati Jois.
I began teaching in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2008, and in that year, commenced an-depth study of pranayama and philosophy with Paul Dallaghan, Sri OP Tiwari and Sudhir Tiwari. I began teaching internationally in Europe, Asia, and Africa in 2010. In 2011, I received Level 2 authorization from KPJAYI, and in 2012, became the owner and director of Mysore Yoga CPH, a dedicated Ashtanga Yoga shala in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I hold a degree in Sociology and Social Psychology, and am continuously furthering my studies in different aspects of yoga, as well as in both classical and contemporary wisdom teachings. Off the mat I’m a father, photographer and Star Trek fan.
I’m passionate about sharing the techniques and philosophy I’ve learned and do my best to live by. Not only have they worked wonders for myself, but I’ve witnessed them do the same for thousands of others around the world.
